The Chromatography process applications are myriad but the principle is always the same (i.e. adsorption, size, charge, affinity, hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity). The choice is depending upon the starting materials and goals.
The correct choice of matrix is most important for separation of impurities in the final API. By selecting adsorption chromatography techniques such as ion exchange chromatography and hydrophobic interaction chromatography, it is possible to separate impurities to below LOD and LOQ levels. The advantages of resin adsorbents are – they bind impurities and give products with high purity. they are cheaper & eco-friendly compounds and can be reused for a number of cycles
